3. Nick Vujicic Is a Giant of a Man

I happened to see this video while it was being played in a church in Bangalore 3 weeks back. Nick is is my hero plus he too darn funny. Once you finished watching the video you can check out his MySpace Profile and Pictures some of the pictures are too touching. Nick Vujicic was born limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, and having one small foot with two toes protruding from his left thigh. Initially his parents were devastated, however Nick turned out to be otherwise perfectly healthy. His life was filled with difficulties and hardships. Nick graduated from college at the age of 21, and began his travels as a motivational speaker, focusing on the topics that today’s teenagers face. He also speaks in the corporate sector, however his aim is to become an international inspirational speaker, in both Christian and non-Christian venues. He regularly travels internationally to speak to Christian congregations. By the age of 25 he hopes to become financially independent, however he wishes to promote his words through shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show, as well as writing books. His first book, planned for completion by the end of 2007, is to be called ‘No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!’ See his site calle Life Without Limbs and more details on WikiPedia.

Another video of Nick Preaching watch it, its funny. I can’t believe someone with no legs and hands can be so full of Joy and Fun.

4. Al Pacino’s “Inch By Inch” Speech

If you don’t like emotional or sentimental talk then watch this Pep talk from Al Pacino’s “Inch By Inch” Speech from the movie “Any Given Sunday” I promise it will boost you up. A few lines from the video.

You know when you get old in life things get taken from you.
That’s, that’s part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football.
Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small.
I mean one half step too late or to early you don’t quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast and you don’t quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second.

8. Rocky Balboa: ain’t about how hard you hit

Another Movie Clip this time Rocky Balboa gives you some good advice on life.

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place… and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain’t about how hard you hit… It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward… how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain’t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You´re better than that!”.

9. Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005

The last video is Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005. Where he talk about Life, Apple, Failures, Fighting Cancer and how he pushed forward. you can read the full transcript of the Speech here.

I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “no” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important thing I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life, because almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

Amazing Post, Jacob! Thanks a ton. I just loved it and I enjoyed with 2 of my office colleagues.

I really can’t choose the best among these!

@Ashwin your welcome :) I had bookmarked them for a really long time. But I got the idea of making it a blog post just 2 days back.

You know what, you’ve mentioned 3 of my faves. :)

1. Al Pacino’s Inch by Inch.
2. Rocky Balboa’s trailer.
3. Stevey’s speech :)

The only difference is that I prefer the audio version of Inch by Inch, text version of Stevey’s speech, and the whole Rocky Balboa trailer. :)

I’d once played the Balboa’s trailer for the whole day in office. hehehe.
I then watched the night show of the movie for Rs. 45.00/- the same day. The return autofare, however, was Rs. 270.00/- :-|

By the way, I’d compiled my favorite Adidas Ads here: http://projectbee.wordpress.com/2007/06/27/it-aint-over-till-its-over/
I think you’ll like them :)

@Bipin wow awesome videos I didn’t know that there were so many of them I saw only 1 a while back. I put a link to your blog post :)

Hehe. I thought you knew about them.
Btw, thanks for linking. One is due on me ;)

Hei Jacob, I am from Indonesia, far far away country from yours. Hm, you know, i am really touched for what i have seen. All of the Video are really inspiring. I will regularly visit this blog to know are there any new video. I really love this article or whatever inside. Thanks jacob for the sharing.

Great videos, but my favourite video is not in the list. You can find it here:

Warning! It’s quite long.. but worth every second!

Thats a long list! I have bookmarked these to watch them on the weekend. Thanks for sharing them.

I agree with Nick’s comment above. True stories like these are really really inspiring. I think i did manage to get a shorter version (although i am not sure as i haven’t visited nick’s URL above)

The wall street journal happened to cover this story too.
My guess is this is shorter than the originally recorded entire lecture.

Hi, I was at your site inquiring into one of your WP themes and left a message about its compatibility with the latest WP theme. I went browsing to see what other articles you had and was struck with the title of this one.

The reason is because I have a YouTube video that I hope you will find inspiring enough to share with your readers. If you click onto my name, you’ll be taken directly to the post at Adversity University containing my YouTube video that I am asking people to pass forward.

Thanks a lot!

Stephen Hopson

Thanks for the motivational set of videos. I agree that this is a great set. I have posted about the inch by inch myself in the past.

Also include Randy Pausch’s last lecture http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184

Last lecture is a series when famous people give their last lecture before they die, which invariably turns out to be their best lecture. And Randy Pausch’s last lecture … living your childhood dream is a killer. It has a super positive effect on you. It is 1.3 hours long, but it is worth it.

You can get the transcripts of his lecture at his page: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/

Arpit, find the video by MATT for STRIDE GUM on YouTube. You gotta love that one!!!
